Prive opened it's doors fall of 2002. This was the expansion of the second floor VIP of Opium Garden. The Opium Group envisioned this VIP area as it's own private lounge. They built a separate entrance and remodeled to host its VIP clientele. Prive was a huge success for the opium group. This venue allowed them to separate their crowd from their celebrity guests and private parties, all within the same walls of the same venue. Prive became highly popular and inspired most of today's ultra exclusive lounges in Miami Beach. Their parties were the most exclusive in its day, particularly when they were hosted by Michael Capponi, SMAC Entertainment and Empire Events back then, Prive was the place where all of the a list celebrities were hanging out. Prive closed in 2009.
